Kate Gibbs is an American fashion model of British and German descent who has maximized her versatility as an artist, businesswoman, educator, and advocate. Following the Elite Look of the Year contest as a teenager, Kate turned down opportunities to pursue a modeling career with several agencies to attend Villanova University's School of Business. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City to shoot an advertising campaign and spent the following years working in international fashion markets as a model, businesswoman, and stylist for firms including Bryan Bantry, Vivienne Tam, Elite Models, and Diane Von Furstenberg. She has appeared in various shows, photo shoots, and advertising for photographers and clients, including a commercial for the introduction of the non-smoking laws to New York City and a small television piece for Vespa.
She was featured on CNN when she left her entire fashion career to accept a position in a government fellowship in education serving an inner city community as an educator and social entrepreneur in the town where Bruce Springsteen was born. She is a decorative artist and jewelry designer whose work has been featured in European galleries and collected by influential individuals including violinist Joshua Bell, tennis icon Rafa Nadal, Maya Angelou, and the Mark Wahlberg family. Her father, John J. Gibbs III is a nationally recognized businessman in education. Her maternal grandfather, Paul Fredricks, was a well-known trumpeter in the Big Bands era of the 1940s.
