Zeishan Quadri is an Indian writer and actor acclaimed for writing the story of Gangs of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap (Bollywood). He has co-written the screenplay and dialogues of the film, and played one of the leads in Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2.
After Settling in Mumbai to pursue his acting career, Zeishan Quadri participated in some 50 auditions, and began writing a concept note for a film based on factual incidents taking place in Dhanbad. On 30 May 2009, he sold this concept to Anurag Kashyap, who he had been chasing for weeks. Quadri’s deal was simple - he would write the script and play the character Definite, a key character in the second part of the two-part film. In 35 days, he produced a script of 140 pages, which read like a novel. Anurag didn't want to leave out any detail - therefore, it was decided that Gangs of Wasseypur would be made in two parts and would be a story that spanned several decades and generations, covering the period from 1941 to 2009. Zeishan Quadri, through Gangs of Wasseypur, brought the real story of the "coal mafia" gang war to the big screen.
