In 5th grade, Whitney was the school president at Warner Avenue Elementary School. She then went to Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences for middle school and high school. For college, Whitney attended the University of Southern California where she graduated in 2007 with a degree in gender studies. Whitney has worked at Teen Vogue as both an intern and as an employee, but prior to that she had also worked as an intern for Women's Wear Daily magazine for three summers.
