Una comes from a very musical background and began writing original music and playing guitar at the age of 13. She is an accomplished acoustic] and electric guitarist and also plays some piano.

Una performed her own compositions for her Junior and Leaving Cert music exams achieving Grade A in both. After leaving school she started out fronting a local Rock band in Ireland later deciding to buy her own PA and equipment to gig at every opportunity possible.

Una wrote and recorded her own album and won Ireland`s Glinsk Song Contest in 2004 and again in 2006. Her self-produced EP Sorry was released in Ireland in 2006.

Una represented Republic of Ireland at Eurovision in 2006 as a backing singer for Brian Kennedy.

In 2007 she then joined girlband The Saturdays.

Una won Hottest Female in The Virgin Media Music Awards 2008.
