It was a poetry class that first drew Susanna Thompson to acting. Her fifth grade teacher, Mr. Connie Baucum, eventually guided her into community theatre. She continued studying acting in high school, earning a drama scholarship to San Diego State University. As part of her undergraduate study, Susanna had the pleasure of appearing in Dogg's Hamlet and Cahoot's Macbeth under the co-direction of Tony Award-winning playwright Tom Stoppard.
Her first television appearance was in 1992 in the Emmy nominated 'A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story'.
Alumni of the Hoffman Institute's Quadrinity Process (HQP).
Susanna received a Dramalogue Award for her role as Luisa in "A Shayna Maidel." She was also nominated for Best Actress by the San Diego Critics Circle for her role as Agnes in "Agnes of God."
