Stana Katic born as Stana Jacqueline Katic on April 26th, 1978 is a marvelous Canadian film and television actress. Stana Katic is a multifaceted personality whose interests range from astrophysics to archeology, from designing clothes to dancing and from archery to acting. Stana is a multilingual and is fluent in Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, Slovenian, French, English and Italian languages. She speaks in accents of British, Irish, Eastern European, Italian, Spanish, Greek and South African.
Stana Katic was born of Croatian parents, who hail from Dalmatian Coast in Croatia. Stana finished her high school studies from West Aurora Senior High School in Aurora, IL in June of 1996. In a class of 700 students, Stana Katic has graduated in the top ten of her class. Elated Stana Katic joined University of Toronto and began exploring her career options in biology, international law and modeling while at the University of Toronto. But a chance meeting with a friend changed the course of her destiny. "I randomly ran into an acquaintance on the street in Toronto who asked me if I would work on this miniature indie film they were putting together. Just like that, I was back on this path." Stana Katic reminisced.
That was the beginning of her acting career. Stana Katic took lessons in Classical, Shakespearean, Stage, Ballet, Isshinryu Karate, Film Combat at Goodman School of Drama in Chicago; Belly dancing at Canadian Royal Dance Academy; and Advance Scene Study at Columbia College.
Her repertoire of theater include several stage plays such as "Private Fittings", "Hanging Alice", "Burning Chrome", "Outpacing our Humanity", "Danny and The Deep Blue Sea", "Seagull", "Closer", "Beyond Therapy", "A Christmas Carol", "Rumors", "Mash", "Charlie's Sex Boots" [US Premiere], and Shakespeare's "Richard III", and "Romeo & Juliet".
Stana Katic began her on-screen career in 1999 with a student film "Acid Freaks." She then acted in several movies, and television dramas such as "The Handler", "Alias", "Dragnet" and "JAG" {all in 2004}; "The Closer" {2005}, "Brothers & Sisters" {2006}, "CSI: Miami" {2007}, and "Would Be Kings" {2008}. Besides appearing in single episodic dramas, she also had recurring roles on "The Shield" {2 episodes: 2004}, "ER" {2 episodes: 2005}, "24" {3 episodes: 2006} and "Heroes" {2 episodes: 2007}. Stana has performed in made-for-television films like "Faceless" {2006}, "Dragon Dynasty" {2006}, "Company Man" {2007}, and in "The Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice" {2008}, Stana acted and sung songs. Her big-screen films include "Shut Eyes" {2003}, "Pit Fighter" {2005}, "Feast of Love" {2007}, "Stiletto" {2008}. Stana Katic bagged the role of a Bond girl ‘Corinne Veneau' in "Quantum of Solace" which is to be released in the November of 2008. She also has a role in an upcoming film "The Spirit".
The spirit of vibrancy was all the time evident in her acting. For Stana believes, "As an actor, I feel like you're asked to live life as vibrantly as possible."
