Sherry Miller was born in Philadelphia. During high school she studied with Greek American sculptor Evangelos Frudakis and she attended Tyler School of Art sculpture classes. During the summer of 1958 she attended the Pennsylvania Academy and from 1957-1959 she participated in classes at The Art Student's League at night while attending Barnard College during the day. After graduating from Barnard, she took graduate courses in sculpture at Columbia University.
Ms Miller has remained a serious painter all her life. In 1973 she moved to Maine and in 1978 she began exhibiting extensively. In 1984 she became an art critic for the Maine Sunday Telegram and maintained a large studio on Congress Street in Portland. She exhibited extensively in Maine, Connecticut, Long Island and Pennsylvania from 1978 until 1991. She then moved to California where she recently (2004) exhibited with the Sausalito Art Festival.
