Shelley was Miss Teen USA in 2004. She represented the state of Louisiana. Being Miss USA afforded Shelley with opportunities such as scholarships and modeling contracts. She has made many public appearances but one stands out for soap fans. She did a guest spot on Passions.

Shelley is not just another pretty face! She was also an honor student in high school, and is an accomplished dancer. She has won many dancing competitions over the years and enjoys modeling, writing, art and travel. Surprisingly, the young woman is a fantastic poet. She has had several of her poems published in the 'Young Author's Book of Poetry'.

Shelley is also an advocate against under-aged drinking. She has done work with a local Louisiana non-profit organization called 'C.A.D.A' (Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse), mentoring peers, and other youths about the impacts, and consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.
