Serge Denoncourt is an actor and a director from Quebec. In 1984, he is the founder and president of the Théâtre de l'Opsis, then 1994 to 1997, he was the artistic director of the Théâtre du Trident. With more than 80 staged, it is one of the actors and directors of Quebec's most prolific. Serge Denoncourt planned to study medicine but decided to audition for the National Theatre School of Canada where it is accepted and enrolled in acting classes from College Lionel-Groulx.
Apart from his work for the Opsis and Trident, he also led the Cégep Lionel-Groulx, the Théâtre Denise-Pelletier at Threepenny Theatre and Theatre du Nouveau Monde. In 1999, he was rewarded for his work for the Threepenny piece I'm a seagull ... no it is not what earned him the mask for best director in February 2000. He also directed Così fan tutte for the Opéra de Québec. In summer 2011, along with the winner of the dance contest so you think you can dance, the young Nicolas Archambault, he set up a show with young Gypsies in Belgrade named GRUBB The Musical, a project set up to support young people with educational and artistic projects. They will perform at the International Jazz Festival of Montreal in the summer of 2011.
