For some artists, it becomes obvious to everyone around them that they are destined for the stage before they have even realized it themselves. Savannah Berry is that type of singer. At just 17-years young, Savannah has a rich and emotive voice that belies her age and for several years already, people have been taking notice.
When she was in just the sixth grade, the Houston native got the idea that it would be fun to videotape her performances of songs and post them on YouTube for the entertainment of her family and friends. She was surprised when her very first YouTube video, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” received a flurry of positive responses from people that she did not know who requested that she post more videos. With each posting the audience for her YouTube channel, SavannahSings, grew, and in 2011 it took off. SavannahSings now averages more than 5,000 views per day with over 3.2 million total views and 14,000 plus subscribers.
Savannah realized a dream come true when she was invited by the Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions to perform a “duet” with country music superstars, Sugarland. Savannah joined Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush backstage at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ole Opry, and they performed the duo’s #1 hit, “Stuck Like Glue.” The video was released on March 15, 2011.
