Rudy Youngblood, an American actor, (born Rudy Gonzalez), also known as Tee-Dee-Nae (which means "Strong Boy") is a method/character actor. He plays the lead role in Apocalypto. Off-screen, Youngblood is a grass dancer, pow-wow singer artist, and skilled equestrian. Of Native American descent,as stated on his website, he was raised in Washington state, Texas and Arizona. His pow-wow circuit has taken him throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Prior to Apocalypto, his work included two seasons in Peter Buffett’s Spirit: The Seventh Fire and the production of a Native American theatrical production with friends Patrick Shendo Mirabal and Michelle Hall. Additionally, he has toured with the Native American Dance Theatre. Rudy graduated from Belton High School in Belton, Texas.
