Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Roxy Summers, better known as Roxy Cottontail, has traveled the world perfecting her signature Cottontail style, while collaborating and breaking eclectic indie talent that might otherwise be overlooked by commercial pop culture. Coming to New York in 1997 with dreams, drive and a tube of lip-gloss, Roxy incorporates her deep roots in punk, dance, electro, house, hip-hop, reggae and rock to make people come together, dance and have a good time.
Using her unique flair and style, this budding icon made her national debut hosting dates on Rock the Bells Summer Tour in 2008, followed up with a feature on the cover of URB Magazine and additional features in i-D, The New Yorker, worldwide issues of Time Out, Mix Mag, Warp, BPM and Spin Magazine that featured Ms. Cottontail in their Top 25 Must-Hear Artists at the 2010 Bamboozle Music Festival in New Jersey alongside bands like Weezer and Paramore. In 2009, Pepsi added Roxy as the first female DJ in the Pepsi DJ Collective, gaining the attention of additional corporate sponsors and clients such as Ray Ban, Calvin Klein, Heineken and more, leading to event collaborations with industry heavy weights Steve Aoki, DJ AM, Iggy Pop, Benny Benassi, Afrika Bambaataa, Far East Movement and Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas.
