Robert Allan Welsh attended the Edinburgh Acting School in the 1990s, where he was singled out to star in various student short films. He also performed on stage in both theatre and pantomime. It was during this time that he first met his good friend and colleague Walid Salhab.
After starring in Walid's first short film, 'Gibran's Satan', it was clear that their shared enthusiasm for movie-making would inspire further film projects. Over the following years they have made five short films and a documentary, each of which has gained a new fan base and notable acclaim from local media press and film and music festivals. Some of these include: the 'London Film Festival', 'Manchester Kino Film Festival', the prestigious 'Jim Poole Short Film Awards' and 'T-In-The-Park'.
Robert has also started his own production group, 'The Carmilla Corporation', and has so far has produced, directed and starred in three short films under the 'Carmilla Corporation Pictures' banner. These short films are 'Shadows', 'The Scarlet Mantle, and 'Hanselle & Gretel'.
