Raya Meddine (born Rana Alamuddin) joined the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in February, 2008 as Sabrina, an art consultant who befriended Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) during her time in Italy. After coming back into Victoria's life, Sabrina catches the eye of her father Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
A native of New York, Meddine grew up in Europe, Canada and the Middle East. After receiving a bachelor's degree in TV and Film, Meddine moved to Los Angeles where she studied acting at Jeff Goldblum's Playhouse West and The Groundlings School.
After coming to Los Angeles, Meddine landed a guest-starring role on the series "She Spies" starring Natasha Henstridge. She also co-starred in the feature film "Bosta" which was nominated for best Foreign Language Film at the 79th Academy Awards.
In 2006, Meddine hosted the first season of the hit Middle Eastern reality TV show "Mission Fashion" with celebrity designer Elie Saab. That same year she played the female lead in the critically acclaimed stage production "To Hell With Meryl Streep" at the Rond-Point Theater in Paris.
In 2007, Meddine performed her first stand-up comedy routine with The Sultans of Satire in Los Angeles, a show aimed at shattering cultural stereotypes. She is also a published author and is fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and Arabic.
Meddine is passionate about holistic health and mysticism. In her spare time she enjoys drumming and digital art.
