Pattie Boyd is an English model, photographer and author. She began her fashion career in 1962, modelling in London, New York, and Paris (for Mary Quant and others), and was photographed by David Bailey, and Terence Donovan. She appeared on the cover of Vogue and wrote for 16 Magazine. She is the former wife of George Harrison, and Eric Clapton, and claims she was the inspiration for Harrison's "Something", "I Need You", "For You Blue", and "Isn't It a Pity", as well as Clapton's "Layla", "Wonderful Tonight", and "Bell Bottom Blues".

Boyd began modelling in 1962; in London, New York, and Paris (for Quant, and others), and was photographed by Bailey and Donovan. She appeared on the cover of the UK and Italian editions of Vogue magazine in 1969, in the company of other popular models at the time, such as Jean Shrimpton, and Twiggy, who later admitted that when she began modeling in 1966, she based her appearance on Boyd. Boyd was asked by Gloria Stavers to write a regular column for 16 Magazine, and the director, Dick Lester, asked Boyd to appear in a TV commercial promoting Smith's crisps, which he remembered when casting for A Hard Day's Night, which would lead to meeting Harrison.
