Parambrata Chatterjee is a Bengali Indian male actor and director of television and films, who came to limelight after starring in the film Kahaani; starring along with Vidya Balan. His performance was greatly appreciated in the film. Parambrata also acted in Bhalo Theko which is Vidya Balan's debut film.
He was born in Kolkata, West Bengal to a film critic parents. He is the grandson of famous filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak. He is dating a Dutch girl named Ike Schouten. He went to Patha Bhavan, Kolkata for schooling and Jadavpur University for bachelor and master degree in English literature. His directorial debut feature film is Jiyo Kaka starred by Rituparna Sengupta and Rudranil Ghosh. Seven months after the success of Kahaani he has been signed by Oscar-winning director Jeffrey D. Brown for his upcoming film sold. Parambrata has recently launched his production company named Workshop with his long time acting colleague Rudranil Ghosh and industrialist Dipak Raha.
