West Ham are believed to be preparing a bid for Fiorentina's 23-year-old striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Craig Bellamy .
The youngster, who was born in Argentina but holds an Itialian passport and played under Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola for the Italian Under-21s, is believed to be available for around £7m.
Osvaldo is best known in Italy for being sent off after scoring a stoppage team winner against fierce rivals Juventus last March. The striker celebrated by removing his top and pretending to machine gun his own fans - in homage to club legend Gabriel Batistuta - and promptly received a red card for his troubles.
