Nick Grimshaw (born Nicholas Peter Andrew Grimshaw 14 August 1984) and more commonly known as 'Grimmy' appears on the television channels E4, BBC Two in a youth strand on Saturday afternoons named BBC Switch, and as the Weekend Breakfast show DJ on Radio 1.
Born in St Mary's in Manchester, he was brought up in Oldham and attended Our Lady's R.C High School in Royton. He has a distinct black-Lancashire accent.
Nick obtained a degree from Liverpool University in 2006.
He also has an alleged on-going feud with The Ting Tings. Nick had criticised them in past interviews when asked about them and the band now refuse to talk to him.
Nick will take over the 10pm - 12am slot on Radio 1 on Monday-Thursday on 1 June 2009, when Colin Murray leaves Radio 1. To do this, Grimshaw will give up the Weekend Breakfast show, but continue to host Switch on Sunday at 7pm.
