Mirelly Taylor is a Mwxican actress. She is best known for her emotionally moving portrayal of Isabella Alpert on the last season of Lost (ABC). Mirelly Taylor is of Spanish, Panamanian, and Italian descent, and is a product of two med students finishing their last year of medical school. By age 5 she was taking Karate, ballet, tap, and gymnastics. Raised by her mother at age 11, they moved to Dallas, Texas. In school she was heavily involved in choir and theater and graduated high school with honors. Her academic achievements allowed her to attend SMU (major: Cinema - double minor: Psychology and Spanish).
Lead roles in highly acclaimed independent films and theater led her to a lustrous career in Los Angeles, and helped her become one of Hollywood's 30 under 30. Set for release this Christmas Taylor plays the female lead, Amy, in the family Christmas comedy "Elf-Man", opposite Wee-Man, Mackenzie Astin, and Jeffrey Combs. Set for release in 2013, Mirelly is also the female lead of the quirky romantic comedy "Roswell FM", opposite Brendan Fehr, Jason London, and Don Stark. Taylor was singled out by the critics in her leading performance in "Kiss Me Again", portraying a sexually carefree Euro/Spanish student that catches the lustful eye of her professor, Jeremy London. Although the controversial film "Beyond Honor" was not received well by the critics, due to the directors lack of tenderness with the films subject matter dealing with FMG as a Muslim cultural practice, Mirelly's leading portrayal of a Muslim born college student, Sahira Abdel-Karim was hailed by critics and audiences alike as powerful and emotionally charged. Theatre credits include leading roles in productions such as "Les Miserables", winning first place solo as Eponene and "The Odyssey".
Taylor landed a series recurring roles A&E's pilot "Big Mike" created by Ed Decter(There's Something about Mary) opposite Greg Grunberg and on FX's "Terriers" opposite Donal Logue(Life, Max Payne) created by Shawn Ryan(The Shield) and Ted Griffin(Ocean's Eleven). Mirelly has also made memorable appearances on NBC's "Las Vegas" directed by LeVar Burton playing Vincent Pastore's spoiled Italian daughter. On CBS's "CSI-NY" playing a Puerto Rican loud mouthed assistant, and also on CBS's "Numb3rs" playing a Mexican girl who had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted. Not too long after she was cast in the spin-off show of the Oscar winning film "Crash" on the STARZ network, created by Glenn Mazzara(Walking Dead) and Paul Haggis(Crash), also to play an innocent Mexican girl kidnapped and kept a sex slave for a Mexican gang. Under recommendation, she was accepted into Alan Miller's private masters' class. Allan Miller has coached many notable names such as Barbra Streisand, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino and more. He now teaches at the famous Actor's Studio. Taylor has also studied with top acting coaches like (award winning) Ivana Chubbuck, Lesly Kahn, and (original groundling) Kip King.
