Keegan was there, a police inspector father and mother schools inspector, born in and has a younger brother Andrew. The family lived in Manchester, to shed her parents when she was 13 when she went with her mother and stepfather live.

Keegan had ambitions of becoming an actress from an early age and took her interest by drama school. After high school she attended school and studied various subjects, has always rejected for a role in Hollyoaks, and being a part time job at Selfridges in the Trafford Center shopping mall. In the year 2006 was driven Michelle to work for MyTravel Airways as a check-in agent at Manchester Airport. She had aspirations to be a member of a flight attendant at that time. There she was the first time and quite by chance met Jack P. Shepherd, who would later play a couple of years her onscreen boyfriend. She checked Jack and his girlfriend for a flight to the United States.

During the quiet winter months of 2006/2007, it was by the airlines, something she sees now dismissed as a blessing. She went back to work at Selfridges and earnestly looked to be an actress, so she enrolled as a student at the Manchester School of Acting. She quickly established himself as a talented actress , and she was assigned an agent. She attended her first audition to be a small part in Hollyoaks, but she did not scored. End of 2007, its second in-ever audition, they offered her the chance to the part of Tina inCoronation Street to play ".

Shortly thereafter, Michelle separation from her boyfriend, actor Anthony Quinlan who plays Gilly Roach in Hollyoaks and was reported to have enjoyed her single life. Michelle, still lives at home in Manchester with her mother, Jackie, Dave stepfather and younger brother Andrew, who is not entitled to home leave, nor, as it is comfortable where she is.

Michelle still sees her biological father, Mike very often. Her father recently retired after thirty years of service as an inspector with Greater Manchester Police. Her younger brother is at the University on a teaching position and it is reported that Michelle have supported throughout. Michelle has 7 cousins, one of which aspiring musicians Manchester Kyle Smith, who is known for his drumming in several small local rock bands.

On Sunday, 14 June 2009 Michelle made her debut radio, hosting the Radio 1 chart show with Reggie Yates.
