You look like a young Orson Welles". No other actor gets this flattering remark as often as Michael Gladis.
The resemblance aspect aside, Michael is now most easily and famously known as Paul Kinsey, a young Copywriter climbing his way up the corporate ladder at the Sterling Cooper advertising agency in the Golden Globe®-winning Best TV drama series Mad Men. The sexy, stylized and provocative AMC series is set in 1960s New York and follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising.
Before the awards and the fame, Michael began his career as a performer on the theatre stages of New York City. His first play was the title character in Brecht's Baal. After seven years of playing a myriad of characters in theatre, Michael moved to film and television. He appeared in the feature thriller K-19: The Widowmaker with Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson. After that Michael went on to lend his talents to CBS crime series Hack, NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Hope & Faith, NBC's Life, and had a recurring role as Eugene Rossi on Third Watch. But Michael's never far from the stages of New York theatre. His most recent endeavor was playing single father Roy in The Main(e) Play by Chad Beckim.
Whenever he is off camera and off stage, Michael can be found plucking the strings of his beloved Gibson Southern jumbo. His love for American grass roots music takes him from folk to blues all the way to rock. Michael also finds time for his other favorites - chess, pool and poker. He warns that any game that he plays, he plays for blood.
