Mathew has spent a lot of time shooting in foreign locations, working extensively in Asia while based in Beijing, China from 1996-2001. During this time Mathew shot documentaries all over China from the Tibetan Plateau to Vietnam, Mongolia and the Gobi desert. Working in extreme weather conditions from snow and rain to wind and deserts, in temperatures from -25 to +45 C.
Mathew has a strong technical knowledge of the latest formats and workflows with detailed experience on solid state recording systems like RED, Viper, P2 and XDCAM-EX. He has an excellent knowledge of final cut and avid workflows. The modern HD recording systems require a DOP who understands every step of the workflow from on set through to final colour grading and mastering.
Mathew is particularly knowledgeable on the best and smoothest red camera workflows and my experience and easy going personality mean that my part of a production will run smoothly.
