Margo Martindale (born July 18, 1951) is a Tony Award-nominated American stage, television and film actress.

Martindale was born in Jacksonville, Texas. A busy character actress, she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play, for her Broadway debut performance, as Big Mama in a 2004 revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof opposite Ashley Judd, Jason Patric and Ned Beatty, for which she earned rave reviews.

She had memorable film roles as Susan Sarandon's fellow nun in Dead Man Walking, and acts along Sarandon again in Lorenzo's Oil; as Leonardo DiCaprio's doctor in Marvin's Room; and as Hilary Swank's selfish mother in Million Dollar Baby. Other films include The Human Stain with Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman, 28 Days with Sandra Bullock, Proof of Life with Russell Crowe and Meg Ryan and Practical Magic again with Nicole Kidman. She was also featured in Paris, je t'aime, starring in the final segment directed by Alexander Payne. She played Mama Cox in the 2007 film Walk Hard.

She had a recurring role in the A&E courtroom drama 100 Centre Street with Alan Arkin and now has a recurring role as Nina Burns, one of the neighbors of the Malloy/"Rich" family in The Riches with Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard. In 1987, she starred in the original Off-Broadway New York stage production of Steel Magnolias, in the role of Truvy, which was played by Dolly Parton in the film version. Other Off-Broadway productions include Always...Patsy Cline and The Sugar Bean Sisters. Margo also played recurring character Camilla Figg on the first three seasons of Dexter. Margo also played Ruby, Miley and Jackson's maternal grandmother, in Hannah Montana: The Movie.
