Louis Herthum is an American actor/producer and native of Baton Rouge, LA. Louis got his start in the entertainment industry as an actor in 1978 performing in local theater, local and regional TV Commercials and print adds. In 1982, he moved to Los Angeles to further his acting career.
Over the next three decades, Louis remained gainfully employed as an actor on stage, in national TV commercials, episodic television, as well as numerous feature films. In 1991, Louis joined the cast of the long running; hit CBS television series Murder, She Wrote with Angela Lansbury. Louis played Deputy Andy Broom in the show’s final five seasons, 1991-1996.
In March of ‘96, after completing his final episode of Murder, She Wrote, Louis turned his attention to film production and returned to his hometown, Baton Rouge to produce Favorite Son, his first feature film. Since then, Louis has, through his Baton Rouge-based production company, Ransack Films, produced a total of five feature films including the award winning thriller, Red Ridge and one feature length documentary, The Season Before Spring, about the first post-Hurricane Katrina Mardi Gras and also an award winner with a 2008 Award of Excellence from The Accolade Competition and one short film, The Grapevine.
