Kenneth Tigar is an American actor and translator. Born and raised in the Boston area, he received his Ph.D. in German literature from Harvard University. He spent a year at the University of Gottingen, and performed in Vienna and other European cities. He speaks fluent German, and has translated a number of German plays into English. He starred as Captain Jensen in L.A. Heat, and appeared in numerous television series such as The West Wing, Boardwalk Empire and Fringe, as well as in motion pictures like The Avengers, where he speaks with a German accent. He currently lives in Connecticut and mostly does theatre work in New York City.
