Katherine Waterston is an American film and television actress. Waterston is a daughter of actor and director Sam Waterston and sister of actress Elisabeth Waterston and director Graham Waterston. She also has a half brother James Waterston who is also an actor.
Waterston made her acting debut in 2007 in the Academy Award-nominated drama film Michael Clayton, starring George Clooney and directed by Tony Gilroy. In August 2012, it was announced that Waterson would star in the adaptation of the play Red Light Winter, written by Adam Rapp, who was also to direct the film. On May 30, 2013, Waterson joined the cast of the crime film Inherent Vice as lead actress – playing the role of Shasta Fay Hepworth, an ex-girlfriend of Joaquin Phoenix's character. The film, an adaptation of the 2009 novel of the same name, is being directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
