Kara Lindsay is an American theatre actress. Kara Lindsay attended Carnegie Mellon University and received a BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre. In 2009, Lindsay appeared as Laura in a musical-theatre production at the Paper Mill Playhouse of Little House on the Prairie with Melissa Gilbert as Ma. The play is an adaption of the children's book of the same name by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Gilbert had originally played the role of Laura in the television series of the same name in the mid-1970s. She originated the role of Katharine Plumber in Newsies, a Disney musical revamped for stage by Harvey Fierstein. The character was the fictional love interest of protagonist Jack Kelly, but Lindsay said she drew inspiration from the real-life investigative journalist Nellie Bly.
