Kanishtha Dhankhar is a model crowned Pantaloons Miss India 2011 in the annual national Miss India beauty contest in 2011. She later represented India in Miss World 2011 where she placed in top 30 at Miss World 2011. Kanishtha began her career in modelling and moved to New York a few months ago where she walked the runway at the Mercedes Benz ashion week spring summer 2013.

She is open to acting as well. In 2008 she appeared in Madhur Bhandarkar's film Fashion as Model appearance with Kangna Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra. Kanishtha started modeling in her last year at university where she was scouted by modeling agents. She did the biggest fashion weeks in the country including Lakme Fashion week, Wills India fashion week, Couture week to name a few. She has also been cover girl and is acclaimed to be the next big thing in the Indian fashion industry. Been featured in and has shot for high fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, Grazia, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire , cosmopolitan and many more and also been on the cover of Elle, Marie Claire, Grazia, Cosmopolitan. Kanishtha recently walked the runway at the Mercedes Benz fashion week in New York for spring summer 2013. The latest feathers under her cap include the Sabyasachi campaign, Hemant & Leconet campaign, being first face at the Wills India fashion week.

Also she walked the runway at New York fashion week spring summer 2013. Also she will be featured in The Project Runway season 10 finale with Hiedi Klum. She won the coveted title of Miss India 2011 and represented India at the Miss World contest in London in 2011 She competed at the Miss World 2011 pageant which was held on November 6, 2011 in London, United Kingdom, she was in top 30.
