Jayne graduated from Glenbrook North High School, Northbrook IL 6/78, then went to Duke University, during her senior year she studied at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre. She completed her education at Oxford.
A native of Northbrook, Illinois, Jayne Brook attended the prestigious Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center in Waterford, Connecticut. She later left for England to complete her studies at both the Weber-Douglass School and the Bulkford School of Acting. To finance her education she modelled. To train her acting skills she appeared in London stage productions such as "Much ado about nothing" and "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea". While there she also appeared in an ITV series named "Old Boy Network" in which she played a former CIA agent.
After five years she returned and was cast in the tv-series "WIOU". She also was a regular in the series "Sirens" as a rookie police woman..
Jayne Brooks' film credits include roles in the feature films "Kindergarten Cop," "Clean Slate" and "Bye Bye, Love."
She also appeared in the television movies "Doing Time on Maple Drive," "Bitter Blood" and, most recently, "The Four Diamonds," which also starred Christine Lahti from "Chicago Hope." She was also in the science-fiction movie "Gattaca" with Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.
Most people know Jayne as Dr. Diane Grad, which was a role Jayne had in Chicago Hope from 1995-1999.
Jayne is married to John Terlesky (actor) since 11 May 1996. They have two daugthers, one of whom is called Alexandra. The 4 of them live in Los Angeles.
