Ivory May Kalber stars in nuvo TV's new hit show, "Curvy Girls," where the blonde bombshell's life and career as a plus-size model are showcased. So how does one become a Curvy Girl? For Ivory, it went something like this: Born in the mid-west to then-hippy parents (her mom chose her name after an Ivory-colored rose bloomed in their backyard), she spent her formative years in Hawaii. At age 14 modeling agents from Los Angeles said she was a little too big to model and needed to lose 30 pounds. Instead of torturing her body, she put modeling at the back of her mind and focused on school… receiving a Bachelor's Degree TV News in from the University of Colorado.

But Ivory could no longer deny her modeling dream, and the glamor of LA called her back. At the turn of the century, this statuesque Taurus beauty took the proverbial bull by the horns and arranged a photo shoot. She submitted the pictures to agencies and secured her position on the plus-size board at Ford Models. Halfway through her first job, Ivory knew she had found her calling. The photographer, impressed with how she worked for the camera, asked how long she had been modeling. She exclaimed, "Oh gosh- so long I can't even remember!" A little omission never hurt anybody, right? Well played, Ivory…well played.

Since signing with Ford in 2001 Kalber has worked non-stop. Virtually every top retail outlet in North America and many over-seas have used images of her…including Lane Bryant, Kohl's, Kmart, Sears, JC Penney, and Target. She has also appeared in prominent brand campaigns for Playtex, Just My Size, Curvation and Fruit of the Loom. Internationally she has worked in London for Marks and Spencer, in Germany for Ulla Popken, and also in Canada and Mexico. Kalber was featured as a cover model for Plus Model Magazine and BBW, and has notably appeared in the pages of Oprah's O Magazine, Glamour, Good Housekeeping and All You Magazine. Ivory has appeared in person on The Today Show, The Insider, Oxygen Network's Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency reality show, QVC, Good Day LA, KTLA's Morning Show and PIX-11 News. She was also in a national commercial where her curves were highlighted on a glass of milk. Kalber currently lives in New York City where she hosts aspiring plus-size models visiting the city, enjoys mentoring young girls on healthy body image, volunteers for pet organizations and plays competitive beach volleyball and Scrabble.
