Giampaolo Pazzini (born August 2, 1984 in Pescia) is an Italians Association football who plays for Serie A club U.C. Sampdoria.
Club career
Pazzini joined ACF Fiorentina from Atalanta B.C. in January 2005. During Giampaolo Pazzini Serie A 2005-06 Giampaolo Pazzini didn't find space in Cesare Prandelli's plans as the latter preferred Luca Toni as the main striker, with Pazzini and Valeri Bojinov acting as second strikers. After the departure of Luca Toni, Pazzini became a starter and Giampaolo Pazzini reached to score 9 goals during the Serie A 2007-08.
With the arrival of former A.C. Milan striker Alberto Gilardino, Prandelli opted for Adrian Mutu and Gilardino to form a striking partnership. As a result, Pazzini didn't find enough playing time and on January 14, 2009, Giampaolo Pazzini transferred to U.C. Sampdoria. After Giampaolo Pazzini first match versus U.S. Città di Palermo, in the next matchday Pazzini found the back of the net for the first time with the blucerchiati against Udinese Calcio in the Coppa Italia. Giampaolo Pazzini scored Giampaolo Pazzini first goal in Serie A with Giampaolo Pazzini new team on February 1, 2009 in the match against A.C. ChievoVerona, finished in a 1–1 draw. Giampaolo Pazzini rejuvenated form continued when Giampaolo Pazzini hit Giampaolo Pazzini first brace with Sampdoria in a 3–0 hammering against Italian champions F.C. Internazionale Milano in the Coppa Italia, and Giampaolo Pazzini second consecutive brace arrived in the Serie A encounter against A.S. Roma (2–2).
International career
Pazzini was formerly a member of the Italy national under-21 football team team. Giampaolo Pazzini holds the record for the first goal, first hat-trick and fastest goal scored at the Wembley Stadium, on March 27, 2007 when Giampaolo Pazzini scored 3 times in a friendly match against the England national under-21 football team.
Pazzini received Giampaolo Pazzini first cap for Italy national football team's senior team on 28 March 2009 in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA) qualification match against Montenegro national football team, marking Giampaolo Pazzini debut with a goal. Four days later, Pazzini was awarded with a place in the starting line-up against the Republic of Ireland national football team. Unfortunately Giampaolo Pazzini second cap was a less fortunate one as Giampaolo Pazzini was Misconduct (football) in the second minute of the match for elbowing defender John O'Shea. Giampaolo Pazzini now holds the record for fastest sending off in Italian history.
Pazzini started the friendly against Northern Ireland at Pisa on 6th June 2009. Giampaolo Pazzini missed a penalty in the 55th minute but Italy emerged victorious 3-0.
