A cabaret singer, occasional actress, and Arkansas state employee, Gennifer Flowers entered the limelight during the early '90s, thanks to her highly public and vociferous assertions that she had a 12-year love affair with 42nd U.S. president and longtime Arkansas governor Bill Clinton. Clinton aggressively denied these alleged incidents, both vocally and in his autobiography My Life, though Flowers felt free to describe them in graphic and alluring detail in her own 1995 memoir, Passion and Betrayal. On the side, Flowers also posed nude for Penthouse magazine (in 1992), appeared as herself in the 2000 feature Play It to the Bone, and opened and ran a cabaret in the New Orleans area, called The Kelsto Club. In mid-2008, Flowers and Paula Jones made headlines when they launched an unusual Internet venture in which they offered video clips of their stories and thoughts about Clinton -- for a fee. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
