Emy Coligado is an American actress of Filipino descent who is best known for her role as Piama on the popular TV sitcom, Malcolm in the Middle. Though, despite Coligado's capacity on notable television shows, such as the previously aforementioned and Crossing Jordan, she had not any major acting background in her youth; Coligado only began to seriously pursue acting as a career after viewing a Broadway production of Miss Saigon in 1993. Coligado would correspondingly relocate to Los Angeles in 2000 as a result on her endeavors in the entertainment industry.
