Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, but later moving to Long Island at the age of 12, Donnie developed a passion for performing. He sang in a pop and R&B group during his years at St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay, NY and Island Trees High School in Levittown, New York, before graduating in 2003.

Donnie was attending Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York for a major in business and a minor in music. He took a semester off of college to tour with his Pop / R&B group at the time, and upon returning, he continued his time off from college to audition for Making the Band 4 on February 6th, 2007.

On Sunday, August 26, 2007 Diddy chose his 5 man group (DAY26) which included Robert, Qwanell, Willie, Brian A, and Mike. P. Diddy surprised everyone by announcing Donnie J would be signed as a solo artist under Bad Boy Records. It was a smart move by Diddy, since Donnie was voted the fans’ favorite artist!

Donnie is now a member of ASCAP and the Screen Actors Guild. He started off modeling as a baby and doing TV and film work as an adolescent. Donnie auditioned for Making The Band 4 on February 6th, 2007.

Now Donnie J is working on his self-titled album, “Donnie J”, scheduled for release in 2008!
