A little girl saw her reflection on the television screen, and from that moment she knew she had make her way there. This little girl embarked on a journey to make her dream a reality. On the way, she fell in love with the stage, slipped into the footsteps to create dances, lost herself in the pages of plays, and dreamed melodies and lyrics that she would one day sing. This journey took her around the world, through up hill battles, and valleys full of promise, but all experiences that would prepare her for the greatest adventure yet to come. D.woods grew up in Springfield Mass where she first developed her love for performing. She then spent her high school years in Atlanta, Ga, where she currently resides. Attending the infamous Tri-Cities High School for Visual and Performing Arts, D.Woods was further exposed to every aspect of performance. She studied modern contemporary dance, ballet, West African, Hip Hop and attented prestigious institutes such as the Alvin Ailey School and study abroad programs in Havana Cuba.

It didn’t stop with dancing, D.Woods is the true triple threat. She has undergone intensive voice and acting training at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, performed with several theater companies such as the Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, and performed in productions across the U.S and as far as West and South Africa.

D.Woods educated herself on the music industry and developed her identity as an artist and songwriter through her many experiences in the industry. She achieved platinum status and two #1 albums as a member of Danity Kane, and has gained respect and huge anticipation for her solo career through collaborations with today’s hottest artists and her team of female powerhouses, The Girls Club. Taking all that D.Woods has experienced and all that she is capable of, there will be many new chapters to her story…stay tuned!
