For as long as I can remember, music has been in my veins. When I was about 3 or 4 years old, I can remember frequently locking myself in a bedroom and playing air guitar while rockin' out to Elvis and The Beatles. Good times!! I believe my musical epiphany came a bit later in life though.
It all began in the 8 th grade when I learned that I could grab the attention of girls by belting out Del Shannon's “Runaway” at the top of my lungs in the hallways of Roberts Elementary School in New Jersey . I knew I was on to something.
From there I moved to Foxboro High School in Massachusetts where I joined my first band, “The Reaction”. At age 16, I began performing as a lead singer and writing songs. After my brother taught me a few chords on the guitar, and some great teachers gave me a few tips on singing, I was on my way. I spent the better part of my teens and early twenties writing songs, playing guitar, performing and developing my vocal skills.
After landing in New Hampshire in 1991, and playing in a series of different bands, including Nostalgic Distortion, Starving Harvest and Black Wednesday, I formed the band October Sons in the fall of 1998 with the help of Kurt Ekstrom, Jason Lane and Dave Whalley. I've spent over seven years performing with “the Sons”, and together we've released two albums.
Since 1998, I've performed countless shows with the October Sons all over the Northeast. Venues have ranged from colleges, festivals, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, radio stations, functions, parties, weddings and just about anywhere else.
By the fall of 2004 I had written a collection of songs for my first solo album, and headed into the studio to begin recording. The result is the album “All the More We Know”. I hope you can find something for yourself in my music. Thanks for listening.
Cheers, Chris
