Charity Wakefield is emerging as one of the new stars of the small screen. After parts in sci-fi thriller Hex and Jane Eyre, the Sussex-born actress was snapped up by the BBC for the lead role in a modernised version of Rapunzel. She also joined the cast of the channel's new miniseries adaptation of Jane Austin's popular novel Sense And Sensibility. Charity, who plays the violin and has a strong soprano singing voice, has also notched up an impressive string of stage appearances. Among them are credits for The Three Musketeers at the Bristol Old Vic and The Graduate at Staffordshire's New Vic Theatre. On the big screen front the young thesp, who graduated from the Oxford School of Drama in 2003, made her debut a year later in indie drama Imperfect. Since then she's completed work on India-set drama Exitz and the thriller Act Of God.
