Callie attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, where she studied theater and dramatic literature, and the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.

She performed extensively on stage with the Naked Angels acting troupe and with the Malaparte Theater Company, where she was directed by actor Ethan Hawke in Jonathan Mark Sherman's play "Veins and Thumbtacks".

Her debut on the big screen was in an independent film, "Ed's Next Move" (1996), credited as Calliope Thorne. In 1997, she joined NBC's "Homicide: Life on the Street" as Detective Laura Ballard. In 1997, she appeared in the feature film "Turbulence", starring Ray Liotta.

Some of her other movie credits are "Next Stop Wonderland" (1998), "Sidewalks of New York" (2001), "Analyze That" (2002), and HBO's "Hysterical Blindness" (2002) alongside Uma Thurman and Juliette Lewis.

Performed on stage "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot", opposite Sam Rockwell and Eric Bogosian, directed by Phillip Seymour Hoffman, in 2005.
