Weeks after she began to pursue modeling, 5' 8" tall Brittny Gastineau landed a photo spread job in Stuff magazine. And after revealing her wish to have a reality television show with her mother Lisa, E! Network came to help her making her wish come true.
In late 2004, her reality TV series with her mother, called "The Gastineau Girls," made its debut on the E! cable channel with an impressive 4.5 million viewers. It follows the daily exploits of the mother-daughter, from their quest for love in New York City to Brittny's effort to break the world of modeling. The show, which drew nearly 2 million viewers a week and has earned Brittny a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice TV Reality/Variety Star - Female, was cancelled after airing two seasons.
The show has catapulted Brittny’s name into the spotlight and brought her to some modeling jobs. She strutted the catwalks for Anne Bowen and Anna Sui during NYC fashion week, and inked an endorsement contract with L'Oreal Paris, which led to a European advertising campaign. She also became the face of high end casual wear designer Ed Hardy and graced the cover of such magazines as Stepping Out, Hamptons, and Lucire. Additionally, she was listed at number 60 on Maxim magazine's Hot 100 of 2005. And after the second season of her show, Brittny became the spokesperson for AOL and became the first celebrity to create a podcast for iTunes. Brittny and her mother also received chances to write articles for OK! Magazine and later scored a book deal.
In 2005, Brittny returned to television to star on another E! Network’s reality show, “Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive.” It was created and produced by Justin Berfield and Joe Simpson (father of actress/singer Jessica Simpson) and was premiered on August 7 that year. The show, which follows the privileged children of celebrities working on a Colorado cattle ranch, also stars Haley Giraldo (daughter of singer Pat Benatar), Kourtney Kardashian (daughter of O.J. Simpson attorney Robert Kardashian), Shanna Ferrigno (daughter of bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno), George Foreman III (son of boxer George Foreman), Noah Blake (son of actor Robert Blake) and Alex Quinn (son of actor Anthony Quinn).
Meanwhile, she appeared as a guest host in a May 2005 episode of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show “The View.” She was also spotted as a guest in a December 2005 episode of CNBC's talk show "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch" and appeared as one of the 12 "strangers" in a December 2006 episode of NBC's game show “Identity.” Brittny is currently signed to the Elite Modeling Agency.
