Brid Brennan has worked with many of Britain's most highly-respected film director's, including John Davies (Hidden City), Pat Murphy (Maeve and the lead role in Anne Devlin), John Boorman (Excaliber), Gillies Mackinnon (Trojan Eddie), and Pat O'Connor (Dancing at Lughnasa). Her impressive television credits include the BBC's Lorna, The Daily Woman, The Ballroom of Romance (for Lughnasa director Pat O'Connor), the Mike Leigh-directed Four Days in July; as well as the Channel 4 production Itch, directed by Beeban Kidron, and Granada Television's Cracker II.
Brennan is an accomplished stage veteran, performing the boards at the Edinburgh Festival, many lauded Dublin theatres, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National and Royal Court Theatres, among others. Her stage credits include Edward II for director Nicholas Hytner, Playboy of the Western World, The Centre for director Danny Boyle, Mike Leigh's Smelling a Rat, the lead in Lady Macbeth and, of course, her Tony Award-winning performance as Agnes for the Broadway Run of Dancing at Lughnasa.
