Blake Lewis was born on July 21, 1981 at Redmond, Washington, USA, and he hails from Bothell, Washington, USA. Blake comes from Welsh, German, and Irish families. His parents are Dallas and Dinah Lewis, and he is an only child. He has also been singing since he was only five years old. He first attended Lockwood Elementary. He went to junior high at Kenmore Junior High. In 9th grade, he played football for his school. He then went on to Inglemoor High School. In high school, he took German. In senior year, he received three awards. First was best dancer, 1st runner-up for funniest and 1st runner-up for class clown as well. On 1999, Blake graduated from Inglemoor High School in Kenmore. He is a singer and songwriter. He currently sings for a local banned named "BShorty" and he is the beat boxing champion of Seattle. Blake has also performed in Kickshaw, a Seattle-based a cappella group and has also toured Europe with his youth choir. besides singing and beat boxing, Blake can also play the guitars, piano and drums.
He auditioned for "American Idol" at Seattle, Washington. During his audition, he sang to the beat of Seal's "Crazy." All the judges said yes, but Simon reminded him not to be too cocky. On March 8, 2007, Blake Lewis made the Top 12 on "American Idol." He was eliminated from the competition on May 23, 2007. He garnered 2nd place or runner-up, losing only to winner, Jordin Sparks.
