Belinda is the daughter of the late Jeremy Hawk (a South African-born actor whose real name was Cedric Joseph Lange) and of Joan Heal, who was a star of the British musical theatre from the 1940s to the 1960s. She has a half-sister called Berenice Hawk.
Belinda is married to the actor Hugh Fraser, who is best known as Captain Hastings in Poirot.
Her recent theatre credits include Alan Ayckbourn's Things We Do For Love (March 1998 to March 1999), Yasmina Reza's Life x 3 (Savoy Theatre, London, September-December 2000) and Enid Bagnold's The Chalk Garden (Theatre Royal, Brighton, March-April 2003). She played Marion in David Hare's The Secret Rapture (Lyric Theatre, London, November 2003 to February 2004), and next the part of Caroline Kipling in a touring production of David Haig's My Boy Jack. This was produced by Haig Lang Productions - a new company specializing in touring theatre.
