Anna Wilding, actress,director,producer, has been called a "multi-talented film maker" by the press. Acclaimed Australian Director Richard Franklin once said in Cannes with humor "I need an entire address book for you Anna". Anna Wilding has worked worldwide and predominantly based in NZ, Australia,USA and London.Ms Wilding has a strong Internet following and active fan base in multiple countries.
Wilding was first noticed by Disney's casting directors who were in NZ, at the age of 16 and urged to pursue an acting career internationally. Anna left New Zealand for Australia and USA in her teens ,after working as an actress on TV in comedy shows, feature film,and professional theater.Wilding was Short listed for the lead role in Jane Campion's "An Angel at my Table" but didn't do the final auditions instead taking up an acting scholarship she won a place in ,at VCA in Melbourne in the winter program.In New York,Anna Anna was acting in Shakespeare off-Broadway the day the film opened in New York. Her response "I am here anyway".
Wilding won her first acting award, "Best Actress", at the International Theater festival at the age of 19 for the comedy "The Patience of Silence" a play she Wrote, Directed, Produced. Anna was a professional Theatresports (improv comedy) player and won the "Audience Favorite Award". Ms Wilding performed live at the Celebrity West Coast launch of the Tony Awards 2000 in the USA. On a return to NZ one time, and as reported in the media nationwide at the time, Anna played the first "battered wife" ever seen on mainstream NZ TV, Gail, on the long running prime-time show Shortland St.
