Anna Trebunskaya began dancing at the age of six in her native Russia. Her parents owned a dance studio, and Anna took to dancing from an early age. At the age of seven she entered and won her first competition.
Trebunskaya moved to the United States with her parents when she was 17 years old. Both her mother and father were professional ballroom dancers, and her mother still makes her costumes today.
