Anita Yuen is best known for her role as the female lead in Derek Yee's 1993 tear-jerker C'est la vie, mon chéri (1993). She is also well remembered in her cross-gender comic role opposite Leslie Cheung in He's a Woman, She's a Man (1994). The two roles won for her the Hong Kong Academy Best Actress awards. She has also acted in a number of television serials, most notably in Taiwan. Her boyfriend of 14 years is Hong Kong television and film actor as well as singer Julian Cheung. From interviews and news reports, Yuen does not make it clear whether or not she and Cheung are married yet. In May 2006, Yuen announced that she was 3 months pregnant with Cheung's child. Thus, both her and Chilam quit smoking. A son was born on November 12, 2006. His name is Morton. Just after their son's birth, Julian revealed that they were married a long time ago. They registered their union somewhere in this world but exchanged their vows in a flying plane many feet up in the air.
