Andrea Anders is an American actress, best known for her role as Alex Garrett on the hit sitcom Joey on NBC. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on 10 May 1975. She graduated from DeForest Area High School in DeForest, Wisconsin in 1993, and went on to get a bachelor degree of the fine arts from University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 1997. Later, she earned a master of the fine arts from Rutgers University in New Jersey in 2001. She tried out for several Broadway plays in New York City before moving to the Los Angeles area in 2003.

Before making it on Joey, she made appearances in the television shows Law & Order, Oz, and Tru Calling, and also in the remake of the movie The Stepford Wives.1993 graduate of DeForest Area High School, in DeForest, Wisconsin. Attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, earning a bachelor degree of fine arts in 1997. From there, attended Rutgers University in New Jersey, earning a master of fine arts in 2001. After leaving Rutgers, headed to the New York area to work on her acting career. After 2 years in New York, moved to Los Angeles with her boyfriend and worked on some unsuccessful pilots before landing her current role on "Joey" (2004).
