Ami Armstrong is an independent producer working in both Los Angeles and New York City. She formed Mr. Nice in 2005 to finance and produce feature films as well as emerging media for online entertainment networks.
Ms. Armstrong was nominated for a 2009 Spirit Award for Turn the River, written and directed by Chris Eigeman, which was the first feature project fully finance and produced by Mr. Nice. The second, The Narrows, is a co-production with Olympus/Serenade Films.
Ms. Armstrong was part of the founding team of Los Angeles based Serenade Films. While there, she was the Creative/Production Executive for The Great New Wonderful and 12 and Holding (nominated for a 2007 Spirit Award). Ami returned to NYC as a producer on the third film on Serenade's slate, Game 6.
She has produced many successful web based series for Time Inc, Warner Bros. and Alloy Media to name a few.
Ms. Armstrong's foray into film was the short Straight To One, written and directed by Ethan Hawke, which was screened at Sundance in 1993. Their collaboration continued in founding Malaparte Theater Company where she produced successful seasons of original and revival plays off Broadway with some of the top talent working in film and television today.
