Hailing from Montreal Quebec, Canada, Amanda Brugel burst onto the Canadian Dance and Theatre scene in the National Ballet of Alberta production of Cinderella, at the tender age of 12. Continuing to hone her craft in high school plays, Brugel earned a spot in York University's prestigious theatre program by winning the coveted Fine Arts Talent Scholarship. After some work with local theatre companies, Brugel made her film debut alongside Christopher Walken in 1999's Vendetta.

Since then she has had many successful film outings as her subsequent credits include A Diva's Christmas Carol (2000) with Vanessa L. Williams, the uber-horror Jason X (2000), 10,000 Black Men Named George (2001) directed by Robert Townsend, Montreal indie coup Jack & Ella (2002) and Category Six (2005) opposite Academy Award Winner Dianne Wiest. Presently, Brugel is filming the Guillermo del Toro produced sci-fi/horror movie Splice which is set for a 2009 release from Cube director Vincenzo Natali.


Poised to become another one Canada's most prized entertainment exports, Brugel has also left her mark on the international television landscape. Brugel has made a countless number of guest appearances on television shows that include Soul Food (2002), The Newsroom (2003), Doc (2003), Wild Card (2004), Kevin Hill (2004), Kojak (2005), Naked Josh (2005), This Is Wonderland (2006), ‘Da Kink in My Hair(2008). Recently, Brugel completed a CBS pilot, written by dynamic duo Mutchnick & Kohan and helmed by celebrated director James Burrows. Currently Brugel is preparing to reprise her role as Megan Chandler in the second season of the cult hit series MVP shooting in 2009, as well as unveiling the Canadian debut of her second series Paradise Falls in January 2009. Brugel has also created a ground breaking new television series with Gemini award winning production company Screendoor and is presently in talks with several Canadian networks!


While Brugel is fast becoming one of the most accomplished actresses in her league, she is also celebrating the latest milestone of her personal life; her recent MARRIAGE to super hero Marcel Lewis.
