LONDON (AFP) - Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills is considering trying to get the gagging order lifted on court transcripts from their divorce battle, her lawyer said Tuesday. "Everyone looks for closure," said her lawyer David Rosen. "The question is whether Heather Mills has that closure or not.

"If things are being said about you, you should have a right to reply.

"As to how best to make that reply, that's a matter for her to consider."

The full transcripts from their divorce judgement last month, in which Mills was awarded 24.3 million pounds (48 million dollars, 30.8 million euros), were held back under the terms of a gagging order.

However, elements from the judgement were released -- against Mills' wishes -- branding her as "less than candid" and a "less than impressive witness".

Rosen said Mills was content with her divorce payout.

"She wasn't disappointed, she was very happy. It was a good figure," he said.

"She would have accepted a lesser sum.

"What is not understood is that the only offers ever made came with a variety of conditions and hoops and hurdles that she wasn't able to jump through."

He said the public was only able to judge Mills on a small amount of evidence from the divorce battle and it would "perhaps be better for the public to see everything".

McCartney married Mills in a lavish ceremony in Ireland in June 2002, four years after his first wife, Linda, died from breast cancer. But endless speculation about their marriage, with reports of furious rows, soon surfaced.

The British press was never keen on Mills even though McCartney publicly denied that she was a "gold-digger" after his fortune. They announced an "amicable" split in May 2006 -- triggering the two-year battle that ended last month.

The decree nisi -- preliminary divorce awaiting the final decree absolute -- is expected to be pronounced in May.
