London Marathon is being supposedly being run by Pete Doherty. The singer aged 28 is said to have convinced the people to run the 26-mile race by radio pal Ralph Bernard.
'Ralph knocked on Pete's door one day and they went for a run,' says a source. 'Despite being completely out of shape, Pete enjoyed it and he's been out again and again.'
'He thinks that running is a great way to get back in shape – especially after piling on the pounds in rehab,' explains a pal.
'He knows that people will be surprised by his efforts to be healthier but he really wants to turn over a new leaf.'
'There is some truth to this – you never know what could happen,' he tells the Daily Mirror.
A spokesman for Ralph's radio station adds: 'Ralph loves running marathons and probably persuaded Pete to try his luck.'
